About Shirena
My Approach

I want to meet women where they are in their circumstances.  I am a practical therapist who focuses on assisting women by working with them side by side with finding solutions to their situations.  We as women have the answers.  We just need to know we are understood and are valued.  We will navigate through the issues as a team.  It is time for us to regain our energy related to taking care of ourselves and address challenges at our own pace in order to receive positive results.  I have assisted many women with reaching their goal of wellness with childbirth, relationship issues, self esteem issues and overcoming many trauma related concerns where presently they feel rejuvenated as they continue their Journey of life.

Let’s work together to remove the negative layers which are impacting  your life.

First of all congratulations with making the decision to take care of your individual needs based upon your identifying with some of the questions referenced above.   Remember, if you do not take care of yourself then you may not be able to take care of others.  As a woman I understand us.

I have two wonderful children, however, successful pregnacies and deliveries were not always possible. To say the least I was devestated with five losses which included miscarriages and early births.  It was during these times I experienced difficulties in relationships with my family and friends. Not to mention how these traumas affected my working relationships and employment. In addition, I was unsure of how I was going to manage the roles of a wife, daughter, sister, best-friend and co-worker with on-going emergency health issues. For more than three years, I continued to go to my doctor appointments. Yet, internally I blamed myself for the on-going issues and my conditions. I suffered in silence unable to vocalize my thoughts. In one sentence while at my doctor’s office I was told I was pregnant with twins but the pregnancy would have to be terminated.

After that doctors appointment I went back to work and went on with my life until my scheduled D & C.  Although, this chapter in my life was tough and devastating, I found that working with women on many issues assisted me in moving forward and leaving the pain behind.  It was tough to carry this burden but what helped was my ability to work with other women on many issues. I found that helping others assisted me in moving towards the pain to promote healing rather than towards the pain or the avoidance of my feelings.

With that being said, I believe that collectively we can work towards removing the negative layers of hurt, blame, shame, disappointment and guilt which has impacted your life. Many women avoid these issues by not addressing them openly. However, not addressing them often shows up in other ways.
